Women could spearhead effort to protect peatlands from forest fires. The National Development Planning Ministry (Bappenas) and Indonesia Climate Change Trust Fund (ICCTF) has a programme called “Women Initiative in Reducing Emissions from Forest, Plantation and Peatland Fires as part of Gender Mainstreaming in Natural Resources Management”.
