Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita is maximising the national palm oil export to Europe, while at the same time the government also signed cooperation with Turkey. Enggar plans to send a team to Ankara, Turkey to discuss and negotiate on a trade agreement. Until now, Indonesia has yet to have trade agreement with Turkey. Thus, CPO export to Turkey was imposed with an import duty of 31%. This high import duty is deemed a hindrance to Indonesia’s palm oil competitiveness.
