The government’s plan to revoke value-added tax (PPN) imposition on selected agricultural commodities may help to lighten oil palm farmers’ burden. Finance Ministry Fiscal Policy Agency Head Suahasil Nazara said on Tuesday (February 19) that the government may likely issue a government regulation (PP) stipulating the revocation of the PPN on the select commodities.
Economic Affairs Coordinating Minister Darmin Nasution said the Supreme Court Decree No.70P/HUM/2013, which imposes the PPN on agricultural commodities, has been adding burden to crop farmers. However, the decree also benefits fresh fruit bunches farmers.
