Seven regencies in Jambi are prone to land fires. Residents in these areas are reminded to not use slash-and-burn method in clearing lands to prevent fires, Jambi Meteorology Station Class I Data and Information Head Kurnianingsih said on Sunday (July 8). Dry weather has begun in most areas of Jambi due to the low rainfall intensity. The areas include Merangin, Tebo, Batanghari, Tanjung Jabung Barat, and half of Tanjung Jabung Timur, Muaro Jambi, and Jambi. TERRA and AQUA satellites have detected hotspots in nine locations.
