The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), the most widely recognized palm oil certification scheme, said on Monday it has launched its official Instagram as part of its efforts to make sustainable palm oil the norm worldwide.
“We want to make #SustainablePalmOil the norm worldwide,” RSPO said it is new official account, carrying a picture containing the caption “Choose sustainable palm oil. Reward farmers and companies doing it right.”
In a brief announcement sent to The Palm Scribe, RSPO said that it was launching the Instagram platform, to provide education about sustainable palm oil, raise awareness for Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) and campaign for why boycotting palm oil is not the right choice.
RSPO is an international organization that gathers representatives of seven sectors in the palm oil industry — oil palm producers, processors or traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks/investors, and environmental and social non-governmental organizations (NGOs). It aims and developing and implementing global standards for sustainable palm oil.
It has more than 4,000 members representing all links along the palm oil supply chain.
