Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is giving time until December 2019 for business players to take care of their right to cultivate permit (HGU) as one of the requirements for RSPO certification, complying with the Constitutional Court Decree No. 138/2015 which revised Article 42 of Law No. 39/2014 on Plantations. According to the revision, companies need to obtain both HGU and plantation business permit (IUP) to be able to establish an oil palm plantation. RSPO Director Tiur Rumondang said that the institution has yet to determine the sanction for not fulfilling the requirements.
