The new presidential regulation, which will take effect on 1 September 2018, will expand the use of 20% biofuel blend (B20) to various means of transportation outside of the public service obligation (PSO) sector. Indonesian Oil Palm Estate Fund (BPDPKS) President Director Dono Boestami said that the agency will provide incentives if there is still a gap between diesel and biodiesel prices. The expansion of B20 was one of the government’s strategies to reduce the current account deficit, which had swelled as a result of the rising demand of fuel imports.
