The Agriculture Ministerial Regulation No.5/2019 on Agriculture Business Permit causes a confusion to palm oil producers because the regulation requires companies to submit all the required documents at once in order to receive cultivation business permit. Indonesian Palm Oil Association (Gapki) Public Policy Affairs Deputy Chair Susanto on Thursday (February 7) said the regulation may hinder sustainability of palm oil business. In addition, local residents that have given their land for oil palm plantations will be upset because the regulation will delay plantation establishment.
