Palm oil export reaches 2.37 million tonnes

Investor Daily, 24 April 2018
Indonesia’s palm oil export, excluding biodiesel and oleochemical, reached 2.37 million tonnes in February 2018, a 14% drop from 2.74 million tonnes in January 2018. Low export was caused by lower demand from CPO importing countries including US (50% drop), India (26%), Pakistan (22%), European Union (17%), Africa (16%), and Bangladesh (4%). The Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) Deputy Chairman III for Trade and Sustainability Togar Sitanggang said that every year, palm oil export in February tends to decrease compared to export in January. Chinese New Year holiday and less number of days in February cause trading to run less optimally.
