Indonesian Palm Oil Association (Gapki) Trade and Promotion Head Master P. Tumanggor on Monday (January 7) said the ever-growing demand for crude palm oil (CPO) from Pakistan might compensate for a lack of CPO demand from India and the European Union. However, he also hoped that Indonesia could sign a preferential trade agreement (PTA) with India, considering that a similar agreement has been signed between India and Malaysia. The agreement between India and Malaysia had helped to boost global CPO price for a week. Gapki Executive Director Mukti Sardjono also encouraged the government to accelerate the implementation of its PTA with Pakistan.
