Oleochemical export rises 21%

Kontan Harian, 4 June 2018

The Indonesian Oleochemical Producers Association (Apolin) recorded that Indonesia’s oleochemical export in Q1 2018 reached 1.1 million tonnes, a 21% raise from 906,684 tonnes in the same period last year. Apolin is optimistic to record up to 4.4 million tonnes of oleochemical export, a 22.2% increase from last year’s export of 3.6 million tonnes. Apolin Chairman Rapolo Hutabarat said that the increase was driven by higher oleochemical demand in the global market. Global oleochemical consumption has increased for cosmetics, households, and industries. New investment in Indonesia also contributed to the export increase.
