Independent oil palm farmers have urged the government to set fair price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) at farmer’s level. The demand came after they found out that the FFB price from independent farmers is cheaper than FFB price from plasma farmers who are partnering with companies. According to the data by Indonesian Oil Palm Farmers Association (Apkasindo), FFB price from independent farmers hovers around Rp800-Rp1,100 per kilogram, while FFB price from plasma farmers is around Rp1,500 per kilogram.
