Malaysia’s Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok said the Malaysian Palm Oil Council had begun surveying potential crude palm oil (CPO) markets in the Middle East and Africa. Primary Industries Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul had gone to Pakistan earlier this year for a similar agenda, she said on Tuesday (March 26), as cited from Bloomberg. She said the country had to secure new export markets quickly in anticipation of the European Union’s policy to phase out palm oil demand.
