Jokowi lobbies India to lower CPO import duty

During the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Indonesia on Wednesday (May 30), President Joko Widodo lobbied the prime minister to review the policy of CPO import duty. Economic Affairs Coordinating Minister Darmin Nasution said that the CPO import duty imposed by the Indian government is too high, causing Indonesia’s CPO export to India to decline. The import duty has increased thrice in the last one and a half year. Indonesia wants a cooperation in trade and investment that will benefit both parties.
