Japan is postponing the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification requirement for Indonesia’s crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivatives until 2021, following a comprehensive review of the Indonesia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (IJEPA). In addition, Japan had also agreed to import Indonesia’s palm oil products under Indonesia Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certification. Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) Executive Director Mukti Sardjono told KONTAN on Sunday (March 31) that palm oil companies should make use of the decision to prepare their certificates.
