Industry players are ready to implement packaged cooking oil mandatory policy starting on January 1, 2020. The cooking oil producers are in transition period of migrating from bulk cooking oil to packaged cooking oil. The transition includes the procurement of packaging machines and larger storage. Indonesian Vegetable Oil Refiners Association (GIMNI) Executive Director Sahat Sinaga said that the transition process has been running for a long time. Thus, there will be no more bulk cooking oil in the market in 2020. However, he admitted that the shift to packaged cooking oil will affect cooking oil price.
