Investor Daily, 5 September 2018

The Indonesian government and palm oil industry players will visit Karachi in Pakistan this week. The aim of this visit is to seek new investment opportunities and boost palm oil export to Pakistan. The delegation will also hold the Conference and Exhibition on Indonesia Palm Oil (CEIPO) on Thursday (September 6). Several officials that will be the speakers at the CEIPO are Indonesian Ambassador to Pakistan Iwan Suyudhie Amri, Indonesian Palm Oil Producers Association (GAPKI) Chairman Joko Supriyono, and Indonesian Oil Palm Estate Fund (BPDP-KS) President Director Dono Boestami. Pakistan is the fourth largest export market for Indonesia’s palm oil products. Indonesia supplies 80% of the palm oil needs in Pakistan, GAPKI Vice Chairman Togar Sitanggang said on Tuesday (4 September). The Pakistani market contributed almost 10% to Indonesia’s total palm oil export in 2017 of $22.9 billion.
