An investigation held by Eyes on the Forest (EoF), a coalition of forest communities in Tesso Nilo National Park in Riau, has indicated that from the June to August 2017, illegal palm fruit harvested in forest conservation areas was still being purchased by palm oil giants in Indonesia. These companies are called the “Big 4”, as stated in the report titled “Investigative Report: Enough is Enough” published on Friday (June 8). EoF found 22 palm oil mills bought illegal fresh fruit bunches harvested in High Conservation Value areas in Tesso Nilo and Bukit Tigapuluh.
