The International Conference on Oil Palm and Environment (ICOPE) 2018 will be a medium for discussion to reach a global consensus on sustainable palm oil standards. The ICOPE 2018 will be held in Bali on April 25-27, 2018. It is jointly held by Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food, World Wildlife Fun (WWF), and French Agricultural Research for Development (CIRAD). The conference will carry ” Moving Towards Sustainable Palm Oil Industry, Solution for Local Production and Global Change” as its theme this year. Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology President Director Daud Dharsono said that the ICOPE will facilitate the discussion on replacing fossil fuel with other alternatives to reduce carbon emission. The discussion will be held in working groups until it produces solutions. Boycott won’t solve the problem, he said.
