The Indonesian government plans to begin lobbying the Indian government to lower its import duty on crude palm oil (CPO) derivatives from January 1, 2019. India currently charges a 45% import duty on Malaysian CPO derivatives, lower than the duty imposed on Indonesian CPO at 50%. Economic Affairs Coordinating Ministry Food and Agriculture Coordination Deputy Musdhalifah Machmud in Jakarta on Wednesday (December 19) said the government will also facilitate Indonesian palm oil players to pursue negotiations with their Indian counterparts.
