Kompas, 6 February 2019
The government plans to revoke surveyor reports (LS) requirement for four commodities, including crude palm oil (CPO). For CPO export, the policy will take effect in February 2019. However, Economic Affairs Coordinating Minister Darmin Nasution in Jakarta on Monday (February 4) said the policy is still under discussion. The policy is expected to reduce export cost and duration so that the commodities will become more competitive in the global market.
Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Export Development Committee Chair Handito Joewono said the policy may boost exports; however, the government must also support downstream industry by giving various incentives to boost product competitiveness.
