North Sumatra Capital Investment and One-stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP) Monitoring and Control Affairs Head Mimi Rangkuti said the agency encouraged investors to step up investment in downstream palm oil industry. She argued that many palm oil producers hadn’t yet produce derivative products.
Separately, Indonesian Palm Oil Association (Gapki) North Sumatra chapter Secretary General Timbas Prasad Ginting said domestic palm oil industry is able to produce only 50 kinds of products, while Malaysian industry is able to produce up to 125 kinds.
