The government is considering palm oil producers’ demand to revise crude palm oil (CPO) export duty to help boost the competitiveness of CPO and its derivatives. Economic Affairs Coordinating Minister Darmin Nasution on the sidelines of Indonesian Palm Oil Conference and 2019 Price Outlook in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Thursday (November 1) said the government must be careful in reviewing CPO export duty because Indonesia plays a significant role to global CPO price changes. He said the government will need two to three months to complete its review on CPO export duty.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) Deputy Chair III Togar Sitanggang told “KONTAN” that the palm oil industry will comply with the government’s decision on CPO export duty.
