GIMNI investigates dumping allegation

Bisnis Indonesia, 26 May 2018

The Indonesian Vegetable Oil Refiners Association (GIMNI) is investigating the allegation of dumping conducted by the European vegetable oil producers in Indonesian market. GIMNI Executive Director Sahat Sinaga explained that the association is currently identifying 11 vegetable oil products from Europe. GIMNI suspected that the prices are 15%-18% lower than the prices in the countries of origin. The association, he continued, is also evaluating the data on vegetable oil import and matching them with the findings in the field. So far, GIMNI found that vegetable oil import from Europe was limited to corn oil, sunflower oil, and olive oil, while other oils are undetected.
