The benchmark CPO contract for July 2018 delivery on the Malaysia Derivative Exchange increased by 1.43% to 2,415 ringgit per tonne on Monday (May 14). So far, CPO price has declined 3.48% (ytd). Palm Oil Analytics owner Sathia Varqa said that CPO price strengthening was caused by lower stockpile at the end of April. It was also supported by weaker ringgit and the shocking victory of opposition party in Malaysian election.
