CPO-fueled power plant to begin operations in early 2019

The government will begin operations of a 100% crude palm oil-based (CPO-based) power plant in Belitung, Bangka Belitung province in early 2019. The pilot power plant project was initiated by Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation Directorate General, who appointed Wijaya Karya as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor and MAN Energy Solutions Indonesia as the provider of generator. The power plant will run on pure CPO and high-speed diesel (HSD) as reserve.
