CPO export duty still under review

Bisnis Indonesia, 26 February 2019

Economic Affairs Coordinating Ministry Food and Agriculture Coordination Deputy Musdhalifah Machmud said after a coordination meeting at the ministry’s office on Monday (February 25) that the crude palm oil (CPO) export duty is being reviewed. The global CPO price from February 18 to 25 ranged from $550 to $560 per metric ton, according to “Bloomberg”. The government will not collect export duty on CPO if it is priced below $570 per metric ton, in accordance with Finance Ministerial Regulation No. 152/2018 on Revision of Indonesian Oil Palm Estate Fund Service Tariff. Musdhalifah said that the government doesn’t want to put both palm oil companies and farmers at a disadvantage.
