Consumers is being more careful in buying palm oil products. Most of them demanded producers to provide information on the source of palm oil. Sinar Mas Agribusiness and Food Downstream Sustainability Implementation Head Daniel A. Prakarsa said during a media gathering in Jakarta on Tuesday (July 17) that buyers tended to buy product right away once they agreed on the price without knowing the source of palm oil. However, buyers recently asked from which plantation the palm oil was derived. This is related to deforestation and supply chain issues.
