Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) Chairman Joko Supriyono said that GAPKI members have built partnership with plasma farmers, who managed 800,000 ha of plantations, and smallholder farmers, who managed 379,000 ha of plantations. The association targets the partnership to cover 890,000 ha of plasma plantations and 440,000 ha of smallholder plantations, he said at the 10th GAPKI National Meeting in Jakarta on Wednesday (March 14). Joko said that the partnership with farmers began last year. The government, however, should provide more support in widening the scope of partnership, especially in solving overlapping oil palm plantations and forest area.
