The Indonesian Biofuel Producers Association (Aprobi) predicted that biodiesel export will reach 800,000 kilolitres, higher than the initial prediction of 500,000 kilolitres. Indonesia’s biodiesel export has reached 300,000 to 400,000 kilolitres in H1 2018. The reclaimed access to biodiesel export market in Europe and the higher biodiesel export to China are expected to boost Indonesia’s biodiesel export this year. However, Aprobi Chairman Paulus Tjakrawan said that he won’t rely heavily on export to China because it’s deemed unstable. China is buying more biodiesel because the price is currently lower than diesel. India and the US are still the potential export markets for Indonesia.
