Kontan Harian, 8 October 2018

Oil Palm Farmers Union (SPKS) Chair Mansuetus Darto said on Friday (October 5) that price of fresh fruit bunches (TBS) of oil palm aged less than 10 years at farmers level was around Rp1,385 per kilograms (kg) in East Kalimantan. It is lower compared to the price in Malaysia at 435 ringgit or Rp1,595/kg in Malaysia, he said. The 20% biodiesel blend (B20) mandate and global demand for have yet to positively affect oil palm price, he said. The government should facilitate cooperation between independent farmers and oil palm mills so that the farmers can get better prices.
