Kontan Harian, 26 March 2019

Indonesia is preparing to bring the European Union’s plan of phasing out Indonesia’s palm oil to the World Trade Organization (WTO). However, Indonesia must wait for the European Parliament’s decision regarding the plan, which is being discussed from March 25-28. Trade Ministry Foreign Trade Director General Oke Nurwan said on the sidelines of the Coordination Meeting on European Union’s Discriminative Plan Against Palm Oil at the Economic Affairs Coordinating Ministry office on Monday (March 25) that the government is willing to take legal action against the plan. In addition, the government will also encourage palm oil companies to take similar approach.
