Musi Banyuasin, 16 October 2017 – Asian Agri, one of the leading private companies in Indonesia, signed an MoU with cooperative KUD Sawit Subur, bank BRI and government body BPDPKS (Indonesian Oil Palm Estate Fund Agency) for a smallholder oil palm replanting program at Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatera last Friday.
The program will see around 552 hectares of oil palm plantation being replanted, located in Kabupaten Pelalawan, Desa Kampung Baru, Kecamatan Ukui.
Plasma smallholders from KUD Sawit Subur (PIR-Trans national government mitigation), have been partners of Asian Agri since 1991. Asian Agri partners with 30,000 Plasma smallholders, providing technical training and other assistance to help them achieve the best harvest in an environmentally-sustainable manner.
