At least 35 hotspots were detected in Central Kalimantan in two days. Palangkaraya Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) meteorologist Roland Binery said on Monday (August 13) that the 35 hotspots are scattered in nine regencies: East Kotawaringin (12), West Kotawaringin (1), South Barito (3), Kapuas (2), Katingan (5), Lamandau (2), Pulang Pisau (1), Seruyan (1), and Sukamara (8). Currently, four helicopters are being assigned to put out fires in those areas. However, should the fires get bigger, the local disaster mitigation agency and fire brigade will assign ground personnel to suppress the fires.
